The story behind the brand starts with Gordie himself. After being laid off from Ford Motor Company in 1980, Gordie opened his own shop out of a genuine desire to help people. Ford called him back. He said no. He liked what he was building. Gordie is 85. He still comes in every day.
His son, Joe Hanson, purchased the business in 2017 and has since grown it through the acquisitions of Sterling Car Care and Big Jim’s Auto Repair, consolidating all locations under the Gordie’s Auto & Tire name.
