BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – September 14, 2026 – Natural Dos, a hemp company based in Birmingham, is selling vegan CBDA gummies made from a unique extract purification process that is not heated during processing. Heat turns CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) into CBD. The company says keeping CBDA in the gummy is the reason the product exists.

Each gummy has 50 milligrams of CBDA and 50 milligrams of CBD. There are 30 gummies in a jar. They are pectin, not gelatin, and come in tropical flavors (pineapple, sour strawberry, cherry).

“Hemp makes CBDA. Heat turns it into CBD, and most brands heat it away during processing. We keep it raw, since studies show CBDA has over 500% better absorption than CBD,” said Colin Reily, Ph.D., lead scientist and co-founder of Natural Dos.

Natural Dos says CBDA is absorbed more than 500 percent better than ordinary CBD, which is why the dose is lower than a typical CBD gummy. The additional CBD in each piece is there on purpose becuase prior studies also indicate that CBD can further enhance the absorption of CBDA through BCRP receptor interactions in the gut. The company says taking the two together helps the body take up more of the CBDA.

Colin Reily PhD, a molecular biologist by training, started the company with Luigi Ferruccio Bertoli, M.D., a Birmingham physician; Paul Reily, who grows hemp in Tennessee; and Justin Bowden. Every batch is sent out for independent testing (potency, heavy metals, pesticides, microbes, residual solvents).
