Sphere 3D (NASDAQ: ANY) Expands AI Data Center Platforms as Shares Gain 47%

Aug. 26, 2026 – Sphere 3D Corp. (NASDAQ: ANY) is gaining investor attention as the digital infrastructure company advances an expansion strategy centered on energized power, artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC), modular data centers and next-generation compute infrastructure.

Following its business combination with Cathedra Bitcoin, Sphere 3D operates approximately 53 MW of power capacity across multiple U.S. locations with more than 100 MW of potential expansion opportunities. Management plans to leverage energized, connected power and existing infrastructure to pursue AI and HPC deployments that could potentially be developed faster than traditional hyperscale data center projects.

Investor interest has strengthened alongside the strategy. During the five trading days from Aug. 18 through Aug. 25, 2026, ANY shares advanced from a low of $1.95 to an intraday high of $2.87, an increase of approximately 47.2%. The stock also reached a closing high of $2.61, approximately 33.8% above the $1.95 low, amid higher-than-average trading volume.

Alongside Sphere Sphere 3D Corp. (NASDAQ: ANY), investors are also watching several actively traded stocks, including Swvl Corp (NASDAQ: SWVL), CID HoldCo Inc (NASDAQ: DAIC), Cre8 Enterprise Ltd (NASDAQ: CRE) and Rezolve Ai (NASDAQ: RZLV) as small-cap and emerging growth stocks continue attracting market attention.

Sphere is developing a modular “manufacture offsite, assemble onsite” model for smaller AI and HPC facilities, including potential GPU clusters supporting AI inference. Expansion opportunities include an existing approximately 15 MW Hopkinsville facility, a potential new 50 MW data center and proposed 65 MW substation, while the company continues discussions with prospective off-takers, co-tenants and commercial counterparties.

Sphere also has 30 MW of co-mining agreements with Bitdeer Technologies Group across Tennessee and Kentucky, putting existing power capacity to work while preserving flexibility for potential future AI and HPC applications.

Shareholders recently approved the company’s planned name change to DarkHorse Technologies Inc., reflecting its strategic focus on next-generation compute infrastructure. The company has reserved NASDAQ: DRK for the planned ticker change; shares continue trading as NASDAQ: ANY until the process is completed.

With 53 MW operating and more than 100 MW of potential expansion opportunities, Sphere is positioning its power and data center assets around growing demand for AI computing, GPU infrastructure and HPC capacity.
