SAN JOSE, CA – August 18, 2026 – Chamberlin Real Estate School today announced that enrollment is open for its 2026 NMLS license renewal course, an online 8-hour continuing education program for California mortgage loan originators (MLOs) to renew their MLO license. The course is approved by the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) for 8 hours of SAFE Comprehensive Continuing Education.
Every licensed MLO must complete 8 hours of continuing education annually and renew through NMLS between November 1 and December 31. The online California real estate school course is built for both CA-DFPI licensees and CA-DRE license endorsement holders, and it includes the 1 hour of California Defined Electives that the state requires as part of the 8-hour total.
“Finding time during the holiday season can be stressful when your MLO license needs to be renewed every year,” said Marty Zankich, owner of Chamberlin Real Estate School. “Being able to complete the required NMLS renewal course early in the fall is a benefit for everyone with a mortgage license.”
Because Chamberlin writes a new course each year, the program is successive year compliant. Mortgage originators who renewed through Chamberlin last year can take it again without a compliance conflict. As an NMLS approved course sponsor (NMLS Sponsor ID 1400276), the school transmits each student’s completion record to NMLS on the student’s behalf.

NMLS has published a smart deadline of Friday, December 4, 2026 for continuing education to be reported. Records reported after Friday, December 11, 2026 are at risk of missing renewal. Chamberlin students must complete the course by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 25, 2026 for the school to report credit to NMLS.
