Los Angeles filmmaker builds on narrative, commercial and music video credits while continuing independent film work<\/div>\n

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — September 16, 2026 – Filmmaker and cinematographer Kadir Mayel is expanding his professional portfolio in Los Angeles through ongoing work across narrative productions, commercial filmmaking, music videos and independent cinema.<\/p>\n

Mayel has developed a growing body of cinematography and production experience through projects for SkySpire Productions and Dhar Mann Studios. His work requires close collaboration with actors, producers, camera crews, lighting departments and production teams while operating within fast-paced commercial production schedules.<\/p>\n

His credits also include work connected with internationally recognized artists and brands, including a music video for OneRepublic and a commercial production for Microsoft. These projects have allowed Mayel to apply his cinematography experience across narrative storytelling, branded productions and music-focused visual work.<\/p>\n

Alongside his professional production credits, Mayel continues to develop independent projects shaped by his international background and interest in emotionally grounded storytelling.<\/p>\n

His independent work includes The Road, a dramatic short centered on displacement and migration. The film follows Syrian refugees attempting a dangerous winter border crossing and draws in part from Mayel’s own experience of leaving Aleppo, Syria, during the war and traveling through Europe before rebuilding his life in Sweden.<\/p>\n

Before entering filmmaking, Mayel studied electronic and software engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and worked professionally as a software engineer. His technical background now informs his approach to cinematography, including lighting, composition, camera movement, preparation and on-set problem-solving.<\/p>\n

“My experiences across different countries have shaped the way I see people, images, and stories,” Mayel said. “I try to combine that perspective with technical discipline so that every visual choice serves the emotional purpose of the story.”<\/p>\n

Mayel is continuing to build his Los Angeles portfolio across film, commercial and independent productions.<\/p>\n
