It brought together 8 international young people, international employees from the company’s wind power projects in Greece, domestic offshore wind power technology experts, and 15 Gen Z representatives from China. Through keynote sharing, site visits, borderless dialogue, and energy science outreach, the event offered a vivid, panoramic view of how Chinese enterprises, represented by CHN ENERGY Guohua Energy Investment, are harnessing their technological expertise in photovoltaic technology, offshore wind power, and onshore wind power in Greece’s mountainous regions to drive green development in their project communities.

Structured around the concept of “Call Back”, the event, for the first time, appointed two former participants as “Green Legacy Ambassadors” to guide the Chinese and international Gen Z participants. The two ambassadors, Guery Alexandre and Konstantinos Loukidis, drew on their years of cross-cultural study and work experience to reflect on their personal growth since first participating in China-Greece energy exchanges. They also shared how their understanding of China’s green development philosophy has evolved, using their personal stories to illustrate the lasting value of cross-border green exchanges.

As a central state-owned enterprise, CHN ENERGY Guohua Energy Investment remains committed to a philosophy of green development based on harmony between humanity and nature, and fulfills its responsibility for ecological protection across its wind power projects in China and overseas. At the event, Pei Zewei, an expert from CHN ENERGY Guohua Energy Investment’s Jiangsu offshore wind power projects, presented the Guohua Energy Investment Jiangsu Dongtai Offshore Wind Power Project as a model of full-industrial-chain ecological practices. As the first Sino-foreign joint-venture offshore wind power project in China, the project was one that he personally participated in developing. He explained how the project avoided aquatic product protection areas, invested in coastline restoration, and released tens of millions of marine organisms for stock enhancement. The case provided insights into how Chinese new energy companies such as CHN ENERGY Guohua Energy Investment balance industrial development with biodiversity conservation in their green development practices.

The Chinese and international Gen Z participants then visited the BIPV Center, where they gained first-hand experience of cutting-edge applications of building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). They also took part in a free-flowing, borderless dialogue on three topics: young people’s career choices, the innovative thinking of Gen Z, and differences between Chinese and international perspectives on low-carbon development.

The “Gen Z Energy Tour” is a signature cross-border youth exchange brand developed by CHN ENERGY Guohua Energy Investment over the past five years. Leveraging the company’s wind power and photovoltaic business in China and overseas, the program engages overseas Gen Z youth as its key participants and serves as a professional, long-term platform for green exchanges between young people from China and other countries.

Since 2022, against the backdrop of the Belt and Road Initiative, CHN ENERGY Guohua Energy Investment has launched a series of localized Corporate Open Day events through its projects in Greece, targeting Generation Z. Over the years, evolving from the “New Energy Open Class” format, the program has gradually developed into the company’s flagship “Gen Z Energy Tour” brand. Through a more youth-oriented, immersive approach, it has successfully hosted 11 youth exchange events in China and overseas, reaching a cumulative global audience of nearly 100 million. The program actively infuses its activities with traditional Chinese cultural experiences, featuring Mid-Autumn Festival check-in events with Greek influencers, try-on sessions of Hanfu, and hands-on demonstrations of traditional intangible cultural heritage tin inlay craftsmanship. These activities have gradually shaped the program’s signature format, inviting young people from China and abroad to visit project sites for first-hand experiences and cross-cultural exchanges. Building on its success in Greece, the events have expanded to other Belt and Road partner countries.

In particular, in 2025, the “Gen Z Energy Tour” further integrated corporate social responsibility into its program by further cultivating experiential activities for international Gen Z participants. Ten young people from Belt and Road partner countries joined students from Guohua Hope Central Primary School, which has received the company’s support for more than 20 years. Together, they attended new energy classes, experienced traditional Chinese paper-cutting, and enjoyed qinshu, a traditional Chinese folk storytelling art form. The event garnered extensive international attention from 633 overseas media outlets, including the Associated Press and The Globe and Mail, generating hundreds of millions of media impressions worldwide.

Today, the “Gen Z Energy Tour” has become CHN ENERGY Guohua Energy Investment’s flagship platform for sharing China’s green development story with global audiences. Looking ahead, the company will continue to expand multinational youth exchange channels by leveraging its new energy projects in China and overseas, facilitating cross-border youth dialogues on a regular basis, continuously sharing China’s practical experience in advancing its “dual carbon” goals, and contributing the company’s strength to the global energy transition.

About CHN ENERGY Guohua Energy Investment Co., Ltd

CHN ENERGY Guohua Energy Investment Co., Ltd was established in March 1998.
