LEXX, the cybersecurity and IT certification training provider based in Columbia, Maryland, will host a live webinar on August 25 for organizations preparing for the federal deadline to submit post quantum cryptography migration plans. The session, The Race to Quantum Readiness, runs at 1 p.m. ET, costs $95 per attendee, and includes both live access and the recording.<\/p>\n

The company is presenting the session in collaboration with Techyon, a cybersecurity consulting firm working exclusively on post quantum cryptography and quantum resilience.<\/p>\n

The deadline behind the session In June, the Office of Management and Budget issued Memorandum M-26-15, “Execution of the Migration to Post-Quantum Cryptography,” implementing the executive order “Securing the Nation Against Advanced Cryptographic Attacks” signed on June 22, 2026. The memorandum directs every executive department and agency to develop and submit a post quantum cryptography migration plan to OMB and the Office of the National Cyber Director no later than 120 days from the date of the memorandum. That window closes on October 22, 2026.<\/p>\n

The requirement reaches past the agencies themselves. Each agency plan must include a third party coordination plan, and agencies are directed to ensure vendor requirements carry post quantum readiness and cryptographic agility provisions. Contractors and subcontractors selling into the federal government should expect those provisions to reach them through their contracts rather than through a memorandum addressed to them directly.<\/p>\n

Why the timing matters now The threat the deadline responds to does not wait for a working quantum computer. Attackers are already collecting encrypted traffic today on the expectation that they will be able to decrypt it once a cryptographically relevant quantum computer exists, a pattern the field calls “harvest now, decrypt later.” Sensitive, regulated, and long lived records are exposed to that pattern the moment they cross the wire, not years later when the decryption becomes possible.<\/p>\n

LEXX frames quantum readiness as an inventory and planning problem before it is a technology purchase. In the company’s view, most organizations cannot yet say with confidence where their cryptography lives, which systems depend on it, or which third parties would have to move in step with them. That inventory is the work the October deadline demands first.<\/p>\n

What the session covers The webinar is built for leaders who need to understand and act on the transition rather than implement it themselves. Attendees will leave able to explain why quantum computing changes cybersecurity, what “harvest now, decrypt later” means for their own data, and what a quantum ready organization looks like in practice. The session also covers the components of a post quantum migration plan, how to inventory cryptographic assets, and which actions are worth taking over the next twelve to twenty four months.<\/p>\n

Who is presenting The session is led by Boyko Antonov, Ph.D., a subject matter expert in post quantum cryptography with more than thirty years of technology leadership experience spanning federal agencies, IBM, and PwC. Across his career he has led large scale enterprise technology transformation initiatives for government and commercial organizations. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science. Ben Tchoubineh, chief executive officer of LEXX, hosts.<\/p>\n
