Into her impressive academic career as a Professor of Computer Science at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago , she has poured her lifelong love for painting, illustration, and writing.<\/p>\n

Netiva, who lived in Skokie, Illinois , originally wrote and illustrated this series of stories out of a deep desire to create worlds full of magic for her daughters (Irene, Ashley, and Caroline) and the Highland School community.<\/p>\n
