Beyond his military background, Jones enjoys working on and riding motorcycles and spending time fly fishing. His poetry was first formally recognized while recovering from a back injury at a VA facility in Sheridan, Wyoming. During that time, several of his poems were entered into an arts festival at the VA in Fort Harrison, Montana, where they won Blue Ribbons in two separate categories. The encouragement he received from others ultimately inspired him to pursue publishing this powerful collection.<\/p>\n
