CUMBERLAND, MD – JUNE 19, 2026 – <\/strong>Chuck Ternent, a retired Cumberland public safety leader with more than 30 years of experience across law enforcement, fire service, emergency response, and disaster recovery, has been appointed Chair of the Western Maryland Flood Recovery Committee. The appointment calls on his background in public safety leadership and multi-agency coordination to support long-term recovery efforts following the May 2025 flood that affected communities across Western Maryland.<\/p>\n

The Western Maryland Flood Recovery Committee coordinates government, nonprofit, faith-based, and community resources to support infrastructure repair, resident assistance, and regional stabilization across the affected area.
