Tamari Robatayaki & Whisky Bar is proud to announce it has been named the Best Sushi Restaurant of 2026 by the California Restaurant Association (CRA), Fresno Chapter. This prestigious “Best of the Valley” recognition, now in its 33rd year, honors Tamari for its commitment to craft, precision, and passion in Japanese cuisine.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2017, Tamari has spent the last eight years evolving into Fresno’s premier gathering place for authentic robatayaki and world-class sushi. The award comes as the restaurant continues to push the boundaries of the local culinary scene through its farm-to-table freshness and the recent launch of its First Annual Omakase series.<\/p>\n

“This award belongs to the Fresno community,” said Edward Yung, Founder and Owner of Tamari Robatayaki & Whisky Bar. “Our neighbors have shown us incredible loyalty since we first opened our doors. We are honored to be recognized and the true reward is seeing satisfied guests every night.”<\/p>\n

The CRA recognition highlights Tamari’s unique dual-focus: a sushi bar led by Head Chef Richard Yang, a kitchen which specializes in grilled robata skewers and fresh poultry, meat chicken and Asian dishes, and a bar program featuring an unparalleled collection of over 350 international whiskies.<\/p>\n

“Chef Richard and our entire team are dedicated to the details,” Yung continued. “Whether it is sourcing the perfect seasonal fish or meticulously matching every bite in our Omakase journey, we strive for a level of mastery that our guests can taste in every dish.”<\/p>\n

Tamari invites the community to celebrate this achievement during their weekday Happy Hour, Monday through Friday from 4 PM to 6 PM, featuring Chef Choice Robata Skewers and fresh Handrolls.<\/p>\n
