Two veteran board-certified opticians with more than 45 years of combined experience continue the legacy of Central Pennsylvania’s longest-standing independent eye care destination, established in 1996.<\/p>\n

Hampden Optical, the trusted independent eye care and designer eyewear destination on the Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg PA, is entering a new chapter under the leadership of co-owners Noelle Calzone and Michele Henry. Both board-certified opticians acquired the practice in 2024 and continue to build on its nearly three-decade legacy of personalized vision care in Central Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1996, Hampden Optical has spent more than 25 years providing the Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg, Carlisle, and surrounding Central PA communities with comprehensive eye exams, designer eyewear, and a level of one-on-one service that independent practices are uniquely positioned to offer. With Calzone and Henry at the helm, that tradition continues alongside a renewed focus on style, technology, and a fun, welcoming patient experience.<\/p>\n

Calzone brings more than 25 years of optical experience to her role as co-owner and board-certified optician. Known for her precision with difficult prescriptions, adjustments, and repairs, she has built a loyal following of patients across Central PA who rely on her depth of knowledge and her steady hands.<\/p>\n

“Eye care is personal,” said Noelle Calzone, co-owner of Hampden Optical. “We get to know our patients, their lifestyles, and what they actually need from their eyewear. That kind of attention is something only an independent practice can deliver, and it is what we are committed to protecting and growing.”<\/p>\n

Henry brings more than 20 years of optical experience and a reputation as the practice’s “fixer of all things,” with particular strength in frame adjustments and repairs. Her sense of style and warm personality have helped redefine what choosing eyewear can feel like.<\/p>\n

“Picking out glasses should be fun, not stressful,” said Michele Henry, co-owner of Hampden Optical. “We want every person who walks through our doors to leave feeling confident in how they look and how they see. That is the whole experience we have built here.”<\/p>\n

Alongside Calzone and Henry, the Hampden Optical team includes Dr. David E. Paden, OD, a Pennsylvania College of Optometry graduate who completed a residency in ocular disease and refractive eye care at OMNI Eye Services of New Jersey. Together, the team offers a full range of services including comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting, pediatric vision screening, custom progressives and specialty coatings, dry eye and allergy care, and on-site frame and lens repairs.<\/p>\n

Patients also have access to a curated selection of more than 800 designer frames from leading brands, including the recently launched Ray-Ban Meta smart eyewear, alongside Aspex, Tura, Kenmark, Vera Wang, and others. An on-site lab allows for fast turnaround on repairs, adjustments, and many lens fittings.<\/p>\n
