Middletown, Connecticut – Charles IT, a managed IT services provider (MSP) has announced the successful completion of the Service and Organization Control (SOC) Type II audit. The audit certifies that the company has met the worldwide standard for secure and confidential information handling by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
This is the second time the MSP was audited for the certification. The process included a review of the Trust Services Criteria (TSC) from its previous Type 1 certification as well as a focus on operating practices and internal controls to maintain privacy and security within its practices.
The review process included an audit of the MSP’s security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
“SOC II Type II provides rational assurance and peace of mind that controls are properly designed, in place, and effectively protecting sensitive client data,” said Foster Charles, Founder & CEO.
“We underwent a six-month audit by external auditors who tested that we had the appropriate controls in place and were effective over the period of the audit.”
